Welcome to our blog!

Komodo Dragon Base pulled South Africa out of our World Cup draw - which means we have taken on South Africa as our learning journey this half term.

Not only will we be focusing on the World cup and tracking South Africa's progress, but we will also be learning through International Arts week, Nelson Mandela and why people in different countries were and are treated differently.

Keep you eyes peeled on our blog as lots of exciting things will be happening!

Music - Composing!

On Wednesday in Year 6 we did music! To do the really cool activity we used 2Simple to recreate the music to the official South African national anthem! Doing that was tricky but extremely fun to do. Before that part, however, everybody (as pairs) wrote a brand new verse for the National Anthem! I loved this part the most - would you like to know mine? Well, of course you do! It goes like this:

To-geth-er as the rainbow nation,
We all de-serve the equal rights,
Through the green grass and the scorching sun,
We are all u-ni-ted through out, we are South Africa!

What do you think? Take a look at these pictures too!

So, that was just ONE fun lesson in Year 6!
