Komodo Dragon Base pulled South Africa out of our World Cup draw - which means we have taken on South Africa as our learning journey this half term.

Not only will we be focusing on the World cup and tracking South Africa's progress, but we will also be learning through International Arts week, Nelson Mandela and why people in different countries were and are treated differently.

Judy Garland Biography

Frances Ethel Gumm, mostly known as Judy Garland, had an excited life full of ups and downs of her celebritiy lifestyle. An amazing actress and singer she was, but her life was full of tragedy as she horrificly commited suicide accidentily. 

Stardom:
Judy Garland stared in an extreamly successful movie, 'The Wizard Of Oz',
Dorothy Gale was the character she played. This happened in 1938 when Judy was just 16.

The stardom carried on a year later, when Judy was thrilled to find out that in October 1939  at the age of just 17 she cast her hands and footprints outside 'Grauman's Chinease Theartre'.

The same year Judy gave birth to her third and final child Joey (Joseph) she stared in her own television show, The Judy Garland Show! The original  channal Judy performed on was CBS. The show ran from September 29th to March 29th 1964. There was 26 episodes of this fantastic show!
